What's the best way to clean the carpet in a car?
I managed to take a hard left and sent a Pepsi flying. Tried those spray foam cleaners a while back on a real floor with white carpet, and I wasn’t impressed, but is that the best way to go, or should I try some diluted ammonia or the like?
I’m out in the driveway now cleaning the floor mats – lemme know whatcha think ![]()
And anyone has any idea how to get the stink out of my trunk I would greatly appreciate it. I have no idea what it is…only thing in the trunk is a spare and a lawn chair. Not a mildew smell or anything indicating that something got wet – it’s that oily smell of a mechanics shop….

It sounds REALLY weird, but dry baby wipes. They also work on stains on shirts and drawing on walls.

Not easy but I have actually removed carpet and trunk liners and agitated them in a large bucket or drum with an appropriate amount of laundry detergent. A lot of work but the result is worth it.

I used to work at a dealership detailing trade-ins when I was in high school. We would spray the interior with a good amount of water from a hose, spray in some detergent (something like 409 that would remove grease marks), and use a brush to scrub the carpet. We would wet/dry vac it out, do it a second time with just water to get the soap out, and leave it parked for half hour with the windows open. Worked like a charm.
