What is best for cleaning traffic lanes of carpet?

We have white carpet and I want to know some of your experiences of what has worked the best. We have a bissel carpet cleaner at home and I would like to use that but the bissel cleaners don’t work very well from what I’ve found.

Dear Friend, if you have been using a Bissel type cleaner on your white carpet, you have been leaving a soap residue in the carpet that attracts dirt/soil like a magnet. This residue becomes sticky as it dries. These machines use a limited amount of water that is not sufficient enough to do any good. These machines are merely toys. Carpeting is quite expensive and should be left to the hot water carpet cleaning pro’s. If you have an attached garage, you might consider placing an indoor type carpet remnant in the garage to trap the soil/dirt that comes in on the car tires from entering the foyer. If you have steps in the gargage, carpet them also. They need to be vacuumed at regular intervals. To locate a carpet cleaning pro near you, who uses a citric acid rinsing agent in the water used to clean the carpet, go to http://www.iicrc.org. If the pro uses a rotating head carpet cleaner, all the better. They are made by several company’s, including, Rx20′s, Dri Master’s, or Roto Vac 360′s. They take the place of the cleaning wand and clean far superior. Good Luck.
