I have a puppy who I am trying to potty train right now and she sometimes has accidents. I know that dogs like to go where they can smell they have peed or pooed before, so I want to get a cleaner that will completely eliminate the smell from the carpet. The cleaner I have now eliminates the odor for me, but apparently she can still smell it, since dogs have a keen sense of smell. I have read about enzymatic cleaners that can eliminate the smell but I am unsure about what brand to buy. At the pet store there are so many brands and I’m not sure what exactly to look for.
I have also heard about using vinegar to get rid of the smell, but I don’t want my carpet smelling like vinegar anymore than I want it to smell like pee or poop.

There’s other things that MIGHT have caused it, but we’re thinking it’s strong dog urine.
Woke up to the strongest, most foul odor. We found one place dog pee’d. I’ve tried everything: vinegar, baking soda, laundry detergent. You know those hand-held steamers they show on t.v. that naturally cleans surfaces? I used that after all those. It STILL smells!
What else can I do?????????? I’ve got her blinds open, in hopes that there will be enough sun to hit it tomorrow to help, but it didn’t help today!
PLEASE help?!?!?!?!
It smells like cat! but we only have a dog. I’m thinking she was dehydrated, maybe didn’t drink much?

Bleach, detergents, carpet cleaners, air fresheners, vinegar, baking soda etc are obviously all useless for this problem.
There are many products on the market that claim to neutralise the odour , has anyone tried something that actually is completely effective, and also keeps the cat from re-offending in the same area?

i bought one of those hoover carpet cleaners and am wondering what kind of shampoo would be the best to do the job. i heard vinegar is a good and inexpensive thing to put in it. Has this worked for you? Or should i get the natures miracle?
