What is the best way to clean carpets without hiring a professional?

My carpet is not hideous, but it has looked better. There is one juice stain from the kids (which is hidden by a rug right now) and it’s overall a little dirtied up. I tried some cleaners for the bad spots, but they really didn’t do anything other then lighten the carpet a little – which also made a visible spot from where I didn’t clean. I am thinking I will need to steam clean just so it doesn’t look patchy. Any thoughts?

What's the best way to clean stains on a sofa? I think its a micro fiber type sofa. thanks?

Can you use one of those carpet cleaners or do you need to use a steam cleaner if so how do you scrub the stain out of the fabric or does the steam just do it? Bought a used sofa that didn’t see all the stains on it until we got home.

What is the best cleaner to use in a steam cleaner for extra dirty carpets?

We are purchasing a house that was foreclosed on and has been sitting for about 6 months. The carpet is probably 3 years old and appears that a vacuum cleaner has never touched it…LOL! However, I believe the carpet will come clean, it’s just extremely dirty and has a lot of traffic areas in it. I have rented a steam cleaner to try to do it myself, but was wondering if anyone has any advice on any good cleaners to use in the system that they have had a great success with.

what is the best way to get stains out of carpet?

I would like to know what is the best way to get stains out of carpet. I have tan carpet and three young kids, say the lest they have not been kind to it. I have red blue and purple Kool-aid and juice stains among other things. I also have three Large area rugs and two of them are wool. I have a steam cleaner (bissle a big one ) but it only seems to just get some of the dirt out, i use the cleaners but it never seems to help this carpet always looks stained up and dirty.. This is also a rental house so who knows how some of these stains got here. I also have a place where it looks like who ever lived here before just dumped ash trays its a black patch (really do mean patch it’s huge) with black burn spots (carpet melted) So can anyone help me i don’t have a ton of money to spend on a Proff. cleaning service.
i used the oxy-clean like most of you said to use, it got a lot of the dark spots out (the ash looking place) and lightened the kool-aid but they are still there

Best Way To Clean Carpets? (Wet Extraction or Dry Bonnet)?

I would like both professional cleaners and customer stand points on this. Which is the best way to clean carpets wet extraction "Steam" cleaning or dry bonnet type (Teri-Towel) type cleaning? I just can’t see how dry type systems can get the carpet as clean as wet extraction, but i may be wrong. What’s the pros and cons to both? I am looking at starting a carpet cleaning business and doing all the research i can before laying down the money.

Gruene steam cleaner against bathroom tiles

I don’t have the best of experiences with steam cleaners to be honest. Most are bulky, they’re loud, expensive, and don’t work well enough to be worth the trouble – I mean, a lot of them even only do carpets. I’ve seen this new type of cleaner advertised, and it looked so amazing, I thought it really couldn’t be true… it just sounded way too good. I’m pretty shocked that it wasn’t too good to be true. The Gruene really blew me away within ten minutes of opening the box, and most of those minutes were spent just reading instructions and what tools do what. It was easy to put together so I could try it right away. The steam was ready to go in just seconds like promised, and I didn’t get hurt using it. Despite the fact that I’m about to have my third back surgery, this cleaner is light enough for me to use it without pain. I just put the water in, and within a few seconds, using only one attachment, I was able to clean stuff off of shower and bathroom tiles that had been there for years, without even having to put much work into it. The thing that took the most time? Cleaning the brush after doing a lot of cleaning with it, and even that didn’t take long. I was able to do about six large tiles, including the lines between, in two minutes, including the time it took to create the steam. It was just amazing, and it’s going to help with the flood damage a lot. It can be used to sanitize items, get wrinkles out of clothes, has a corner attachment, and other attachments for
