I have a puppy who I am trying to potty train right now and she sometimes has accidents. I know that dogs like to go where they can smell they have peed or pooed before, so I want to get a cleaner that will completely eliminate the smell from the carpet. The cleaner I have now eliminates the odor for me, but apparently she can still smell it, since dogs have a keen sense of smell. I have read about enzymatic cleaners that can eliminate the smell but I am unsure about what brand to buy. At the pet store there are so many brands and I’m not sure what exactly to look for.

I have also heard about using vinegar to get rid of the smell, but I don’t want my carpet smelling like vinegar anymore than I want it to smell like pee or poop.

We had to put a litter box indoors(2 yrs) for the older cat-he was unable to get around very well and still frequently did not use or missed the box. We removed the box after a few days. We have always had a box in the garage -access with a kitty door from kitchen.She seems to only eliminate (pee & poop)inapppropriately at night as far as we can tell. Until last night it was where the older cat use to go. Last night she peed at the foot of our bed on the carpet. Is it because the older cat died, we moved the litter box, stress? Is she now lazy or dislikes the dark garage? (We have always cleaned up messes asap, using cleaners designed for pet accidents, have had our carpets steam cleaned on fairly reg. basis, shampooed them ourselves, etc. I am very paranoid about pet odors!) She has NEVER done this before and we cannot seem to break her habit. HELP!!!

my dog has an upset stomach due to changing his dog food and unfortuntely he has managed to poop 3 or 4 different places in the house. i have carpet in my house and i have picked up, wiped up, and ran my steam cleaner and i can still smell doog poop very strongly. does anyone know how i can get that smell out of my house? any special cleaners or shampoo for my steam cleaner? please help im going nuts with this smell. its awlful. thanks tufftuff

I am moving into a new home, and am moving in as is. the previous owners allowed their animals to use the carpet as their bathroom and the entire house smelled horribly and so strongly of animal poop and pee (dogs, no cats) at this moment I cannot afford to get new carpeting put in. I have shampooed the carpets several times with a shampooing machine, and still it smells like the carpets were just peed on. I have used expensive carpet cleaners, as well as vinegar, and baking soda, oxy clean and carpet refreshers. most of the stains are out of the carpet, but it is the smell that I am most concerned with at the moment. Any ideas?

ONCE AGAIN I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET NEW CARPET.
ALSO, THERE IS JUST CEMENT UNDER THE CARPE AND PADDING.
