Can you use one of those carpet cleaners or do you need to use a steam cleaner if so how do you scrub the stain out of the fabric or does the steam just do it? Bought a used sofa that didn’t see all the stains on it until we got home.

So I have two dogs, and lately they have been using my bedroom as their personal bathroom. They’re both fully grown and completely potty trained, but for some reason they seem to enjoy going into my room in particular to do their business. It’s hard to correct the behavior because during the day they are at my house alone (although that problem is easily fixed by shutting my door), but the biggest problem is that they sleep in my bedroom and I can’t sleep with my door shut, so I often wake up to unpleasant surprises. For the last few weeks, however, they seem to have stopped, but I’m beginning to worry that my rug is completely ruined.
Regardless, I’ve tried again and again to clean the smell and stains out of my carpet, but nothing seems to work. They stains go away fairly easily, but the smell remains and it is terrible. I tried shampooing my entire rug countless times; it doesn’t really make a difference. I used tons of different carpet cleaners, but now it’s harder because all the stains are gone so I don’t know exactly where to clean. The smell makes me want to gag whenever I walk into my room. I will replace my carpet with wood floor as soon as possible, but at the moment it’s a money issue so I’ll just have to deal with my carpet.
Help… please?

When I turn it on and pull the little trigger nothing comes out of the bottom of the cleaner. I have cleaned it out thoroughly so I know it’s not hair or anything clogging it up. If the carpet is already wet it will suck it up fine but again it won’t release any liquid of it’s own. I’ve fumbled with the "high traffic area – low traffic area – rinse only" knob too to see if it was just off but I can’t figure anything out. Any help? Is there places to even get carpet cleaners repaired?

I have a white berber carpet in my room, and it has these gross grayish areas that are probably from dirt and what not . Also, my nauseous doggy sleeps on my bed and I have his various, dried throw up stains in it too. I’ve tried orange Goo Gone on everything , and it didnt work .
I would like something that’s pretty cheap that I could buy at like a local Walmart/Target, deep cleaning , pet safe , works on berber carpet , and isent a ton of hastle. I mean I don’t mind getting on my hands and knees working stuff in , but nothing too extreme. I just want my carpet clean!!
I don’t want to have to rent a carpet cleaner , so I’m curious . What store bought carpet cleaners have worked for you? And do you think those will work for my carpet ?
Thank you so much! (:

About month ago I spilled a can of Dr. Pepper on the carpet of my car on the passenger side. It got on both the mat and the actual car carpet. It has set in pretty well and I’ve gotten the actual mark up but it feels really oily if I put my hand on it. It is hard to describe but my hands just feel really gross. I have tried a few carpet cleaners and with the mat I have tried to hose it down and do a combination of them both and the oily feeling still stays. What should I do or any suggestions for really good carpet cleaners that may be able to get it up?

It’s short fibered and light brown. The stains range from spilled drinks with dyes to red sauce accidents to stray liquid drops like milk, raman broth, syrup……it’s getting discusting and even with the quick clean up right after the spill there is STILL a dark stain.
Rug doctor does NOT work and we CANNOT afford a professional cleaner right now. I need DIY carpet cleaners that WORK!
Cute idea about the rugs….but not unless I can find one big enough to cover the whole livingroom…..

When my husband and I moved in together our dogs had an alpha war (male and female) to see who could pee in the most places. Despite my best efforts, constant vacuuming, scrubbing, a Bissel Pet cleaner, etc I cannot for the LIFE of me get the smell out of our carpet.
My mother suggested having it professionally cleaned and we are going to do that when the two of us aren’t so pressed for time. I’m a full-time student who works 20-25 hours a week, with a commuting distance of about 45 minutes to school. And my husband works anywhere between 60-70 hours a week with crazy hours and once a month has drill with ARNG.
One of us wants to be here when the carpet cleaners come so it might be couple of weeks, maybe even a month, or so before we can someone out here since the place within our budget is closed on the weekends.
Does anyone have any home remedies? I am trying soooo hard to keep a clean house but it seems pointless when my immaculate apartment stinks!
